About

Since opening its doors in 1966, Bright-Holland Funeral Home has provided compassionate, professional funeral services to Paris, Texas, families. At Bright-Holland Funeral Home, we are privileged to serve you and your family and understand that the loss of a loved one is a very personal experience. Our team takes the time to listen and discover which funeral and memorial option is best for you or your loved one. We believe that every life is unique and that every funeral should be, too.

Celebrate life

at Bright-Holland Funeral HomeWhether you are seeking a cremation with a scattering in a personally meaningful place, a full traditional funeral service with a cemetery burial or a modern celebration of life with live music, favorite foods and a send-off that speaks to the personality and passions of yourself or your loved one, we go the extra mile to make it happen.

Want an afternoon ice cream social? Or maybe an evening wine and cheese gathering is a better fit. Were you thinking bigger? Perhaps a mariachi band, colorful decor, a taco bar and tiny potted succulents as mementos? If you can imagine it, we will do our best to make it happen.

History

In 1965, Ross R. Steele and Sammy Leverett began construction. The following year, Leverett and Steele Funeral Home opened for business at 2601 Lamar Avenue.

In 1977, David Thomas joined Leverett and Steele Funeral Home as manager. The partners changed the name to Steele and Thomas Funeral Home. Four years later, Ben Holland and Harry Bright bought the funeral home and changed the name again, to Bright-Holland Funeral Home.

For the next 13 years, Ben and Harry met the funeral needs of families in Paris and Lamar County. In 1994, the partnership disbanded and the funeral home was sold again, though Ben remained as general manager, a role he still holds today.

Under Ben's leadership, Bright-Holland Funeral Home continues to provide families with quality service and personal care.
